How it works

Looking for a home or lived there before?
Trusty Living works both ways.

Whether you're researching your next home or sharing your experience of your current or previous property, Trusty Living helps renters learn from each other.

  1. Step 1 — Find or add a property

Search by address, postcode, street or area.

Looking for your next home? Find the property and see what previous renters have shared.

Want to leave a review? Search for somewhere you live now, are moving out of, or have lived before. If the property isn't on Trusty Living yet, simply add it yourself in a few minutes.

  2. Step 2 — Read real experiences

    See what previous renters say

Read genuine experiences from previous renters and see ratings for the property, landlord, letting agent and local area.

  3. Step 3 — Share your experience

Living there now? Moving out? Lived there years ago?

You don't need to be moving house to leave a review. Your experience still matters. Rate the property, landlord, letting agent and local area, share what others should know, and help the next renter make a more informed decision.

Trust & Proof

Real Renters. Verified experiences.

A review means more when you know it comes from someone who actually lived there. That’s why Trusty Living gives renters the option to verify their tenancy.

It means the renter has provided evidence linking them to that property, and Trusty Living has checked it.

Features

More than a property review. The full picture.

A home is more than four walls. Trusty Living brings together real renter experiences and useful property insights to help you understand the property, landlord, letting agent and local area.

  • Search beyond the postcode

Search by property, street or area to discover reviews and experiences relevant to where you're looking.

  • Safety and condition ratings

Damp, security, door entry, lighting on the walk back from the station — rated by the people who did that walk every night for a year.

  • Landlord & letting agent reviews

See what previous renters say about their landlord and letting agent, not just the property itself.

  • Rental history & past experiences

See previous renter experiences connected to the property and build a clearer picture of what living there has been like.

Cases

One review could change someone’s next move.

Real renter experiences can reveal what a property listing or short viewing simply can't.

  • “The photos looked great, but previous renters mentioned the same recurring maintenance issue across two years. It gave me something I would never have known to ask about at the viewing.”

    What changed:

I raised it with the agent. The landlord confirmed the issue had been properly fixed and provided evidence, giving me the reassurance I needed.

    Priya R.Camberwell, London
  • “I was choosing between two similar flats. Previous renters consistently rated one landlord highly for communication and maintenance. That gave me much more confidence in my decision.”

    What changed:

Chose a property based on more than photos and price.

    Tom & AishaGlasgow
  • “I knew nothing about the area before moving there. Reviews from previous renters gave me a much better idea of what everyday life was actually like.”

    What changed:

Felt better informed before choosing where to live.

    Daniel O.Hackney, London
  • “A tenant wrote that my repairs were slow. It stung, and it was fair. I replied, changed contractor, and the next two reviews said so in writing.”

    What changed:

First honest feedback loop in fifteen years of letting — and a 4.6 average that now does the advertising.

    Marcus B.Landlord, Peckham

Why Trusty Living?

There’s more to a home than what you see in a viewing.

A property listing shows you the photos. A viewing gives you a glimpse. But what about actually living there? Trusty Living helps you discover the things only previous renters can tell you.

  • The property

Wide-angle photos, a “recently refurbished” kitchen from 2011, and a block viewing shared with nine other people. The holding deposit goes in before you’ve learned one true thing about the place.

    Our solution

What’s it really like to live there? Discover what previous renters have to say, from the property’s overall condition to the comfort of everyday living, before you make your decision.

  • The people behind it

Nobody mentions the boiler that’s been “booked in” since last winter, or the agent who stops replying the day the tenancy starts. References run one way in this market: they check you.

    Our solution

A great home deserves a great landlord. See how previous renters rate their landlord and letting agent.

  • The local area

Portals are paid by listings. Agents are paid by lettings. A group chat, a Reddit thread and a hunch is not due diligence — yet it’s what most people move a whole life on.

    Our solution

There’s a big difference between visiting a neighbourhood and living in it. Is it safe? Is it convenient? What’s it really like day to day? Discover the answers from people who’ve actually lived there.

FAQ

Questions?
We’re glad you asked.

Everything you need to know about using Trusty Living — simple, clear, and to the point.

Is Trusty Living free?

Yes, and it stays free for tenants. Reading reviews, writing them, asking questions and saving shortlists all cost nothing. We take no commission on lettings, we don't sell your details to agents, and there's no point at which the good information goes behind a paywall.

How do you verify a review?

Before a review goes live, we ask for one document showing you lived at that address: a tenancy agreement, a deposit protection certificate, or a utility bill in your name. Our team matches the address and the dates, usually within 24 hours. The document is never published, never shown to the landlord, and is deleted 30 days after the check. Reviews that can't be verified aren't published.

Can I leave a review anonymously?

Yes. You can post under your name or anonymously. Your tenancy is still checked, so an anonymous review can carry the green Verified Renter shield — but your identity is never shown with it or shared with the landlord or agent.

What happens if a landlord disputes my review?

Landlords and agents can reply publicly to any review and can report one they believe breaks our guidelines. We look at the report against the evidence. A review is only removed if it breaks the rules — never simply because someone disagrees with it.

Can a landlord pay to hide a bad rating?

No. Ratings can't be bought, hidden or reordered. Landlords and agents can't pay to remove a review or change their score.

What can't I write about?

Keep it to your own experience of the home, landlord, agent and area. No abusive or discriminatory language, no personal details about named individuals or other tenants, and no allegations you can't back up. Reviews that break these rules aren't published.
